About Us

Behind the Name:

Matthew 5:14-16 ~ "You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden.15 Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. 16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven."

About the Band:

Robby and Leah Herrage are a husband-and-wife duo from Middle Tennessee and the founders of The Lanterns Music. Born from the message of Matthew 5:14–16, they are devoted to shining the light of Yahuah through music and worship. Officially formed in 2014, they blend genres of acoustic, folk, rock, and pop into a sound that is both heartfelt and spiritually grounded.

Robby and Leah continuously strive to create songs that point listeners toward the Truth of Yahuah’s Word and the blessed hope that’s only found in Messiah Yahshua. Reaching beyond the music stage, their passion and desire is to be the hands and feet of Yahshua, encouraging believers to worship the Most High in Spirit and in Truth (John 4:23-24), and proclaiming the gospel to every creature (Mark 16:15) through every lyric and melody.

With faith-driven, story-telling lyrics, beautiful harmonies, and a calling to reach all those who have ears to hear, The Lanterns Music seeks to inspire worship, awaken hearts, and carry the light of Yah into a world searching for truth.

About the Artists:

They both play instruments, sing and have a musical background. Leah has had choral experience, as well as vocal coaching. She plays guitar and has been compared vocally to artists, such as Joy Williams from the Civil Wars, Marketa Irgloba from the Swell Season, and Allison Krauss. Her style is a blend of Christian Folk and Pop. As well, Robby has a diverse background in music.

He's a third-generation drummer with abilities on piano, harmonica, acoustic/electric guitars, as well as singing melody and harmony vocals. He's performed with school and college bands, as well as symphony orchestras. He also went to school at East Texas Baptist University where he studied Music Education and achieved my BA degree. Since then, he's been making tents (like Paul), pursuing, praying and waiting for doors to open musically. It has been a long journey, but it has been rewarding.

Accomplishments by the Grace of Yahuah:

Our first professionally recorded album was done in June of 2016 and released in September that same year, called "Merciful New".

Since then, we have released several singles on most major social platforms, and continue to write music as the Holy Spirit leads.

Music Affiliations:

Currently, we are members of two Torah-Based, Music Collectives: Torah Musicians of East Tennessee and The Torah Musick Collective. We are also a part of another music collective, called Selah Sound Collective.
